Trade Turnover Between China and Uzbekistan Grew by 35.5% in Q1 2026

In the first quarter of 2026, the volume of mutual trade between China and Uzbekistan showed significant growth, increasing by 35.5% year-on-year. According to data from the General Administration of Customs (GAC) of the PRC, published by Xinhua News Agency, the trade turnover in value terms reached $4.109 billion in January-March.

Exports from China to Uzbekistan remain the main driver of bilateral trade. During the reporting period, the volume of Chinese supplies to the Uzbek market grew by 30.6% and amounted to $3.585 billion. At the same time, imports of products from Uzbekistan to the PRC showed higher relative growth dynamics — by 83.3% year-on-year, reaching $524 million.

Separately, in March 2026, the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $1.3 billion. Of this amount, $1.16 billion was accounted for by the export of Chinese goods to Uzbekistan, and $140 million — by Uzbek exports to China. At the end of the previous year, 2025, the total volume of bilateral trade amounted to $16.1 billion.

RetailChina.pro Commentary: The data for Q1 2026 record a stable trend of expanding supplies of Chinese products to the Uzbekistan market (nearly $3.6 billion in three months). The persistent disproportion between export and import volumes indicates a high demand in the Uzbek economy for Chinese technological solutions, equipment, and consumer goods. For Chinese exporters, Uzbekistan is solidifying its status as one of the fastest-growing and most capacious sales markets in Central Asia.
